Every entry sits at a place and a moment. The archive begins now and grows forward: nothing is backfilled, nothing is invented. What you hear here is what someone stood in and chose to keep.
Adding a sound never requires an account. When you record, you decide whether it joins the public map or stays in a private archive only you can see — and you can move it between the two at any time, or take it down entirely. Nobody else can alter or remove what you recorded.
An account is worth making if you want a private archive, or if you'd like to reach your recordings from more than one device.
